Dragon's Den judge Sean Gallagher set to declare Áras intentions

Gallagher is the founder and former chief executive of the technology company Smarthomes and has been a regular judge on the Irish version of Dragon’s Den.

THE DRAGON’S DEN judge Sean Gallagher is intending to run for president according a newspaper report this morning.

The Sunday Business Post reports that Gallagher is close to “declaring himself in” for a run at Áras an Uachtaráin later this year.

The 48-year-old entrepreneur is set to run as an independent candidate meaning he will need the support of 20 TDs and senators or four county councils.

Cavan native Gallagher is the founder and former chief executive of the technology company Smarthomes and has been a regular judge on the Irish version of Dragon’s Den.

He is said to be responding to “consistent calls” for him to run for the office that independent senator David Norris and Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness have already declared their intentions to run for.
