Poll: Do Irish fans drink too much abroad?

Irish rugby supporters “can’t handle alcohol”, according to New Zealand authorities. So what do you think?

IRISH RUGBY FANS have been heavily criticised by authorities in New Zealand, who said many were too drunk to even get into the match.

Christchurch police chief Scott Banfield said the Irish had “demonstrated they can’t handle alcohol”, adding: “We don’t drink to a point where we fall over so much in our country.”

Meanwhile, Irish fans in Poland and Ukraine have been lauded for their spirit and welcomed by local authorities – but several were arrested after clashes erupted before the team’s first game in Poznan.

So what do you think? Do Irish fans drink too much abroad?
