DUTCH POLICE MADE a drugs bust this week, with the help of an unusual tip-off: a snow-free roof.

They raided a house in the town of Haarlem, near Amsterdam, and found an industrial-scale cannabis growing operation, the Telegraph has reported.

The heat lamps used to nurture the plants melted the snow off the roof.

Police, who have used the same technique in the past, tweeted a photo of the house as a warning to other growers:

The Netherlands has tolerant attitude towards personal marijuana use, but authorities only allow the cultivation of up to five cannabis plants.
