This Dublin man proposed to his girlfriend in a music video with the help of their baby son

Ah looooooooook.

WE’VE SEEN A lot of marriage proposals, but this one is perfectly understated and still manages to be heart melting.

Dublin man Chris Cashen enlisted Dublin folk duo Cry Monster Cry to help him make a music video to their track, On Tangled Shores. His plan? To propose to his girlfriend Elaine in it.

Cashen told that he reached out to the band because the song meant so much to the couple:

The reason it had to be that song is because we were obsessed with CMC when we met and On Tangled Shores in particular the night we found out that she was expecting our son Harry.

Of course, little Harry plays a big role in the video, appearing in the final scenes wearing a t-shirt that reads ‘will you marry my daddy?’

The video is a live performance of the song, with Cashen holding up signs intermittently, leading up to the big proposal.

It starts off very ‘Love, Actually’

Then comes the first mention of baby Harry

And the lead up to the big question

Lookit him!

Of course, she said yes.

Cashen told us that it was tough to keep the video to himself, but it was worth all the effort for his now-fianceé’s reaction.

I think she was in disbelief that I had put as much thought and effort into it, and I was delighted that I managed to keep it to myself up until that point!
