SOME OF THE country’s richest homeowners are being told not to head for a dip at their local beach.

In fact, the advice from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is that no-one at all should swim at White Rock beach in Killiney.

It’s after high levels of E Coli were found in tests on water samples taken on Monday of this week.

The presence of the bacteria can cause sickness in humans.

“The cause of these high levels are not known and an investigation has commenced, a statement from the council said.

The water at this location has been resampled and the results are expected back on Friday. If the re-sample results are acceptable the temporary warning notice will be removed.
