€40k of counterfeit phones, games and software seized in Knocklyon

Counterfeit iPods, iPhones, Nintendo DS games and PC software were seized from a home in southwest Dublin this morning.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED €40,000 worth of counterfeit electronics products from a house in south-west this morning.

The goods – including counterfeit Apple iPods and iPhones, as well as Nintendo DS games and other video games and computer software – were seized from a home in Knocklyon, Dublin 16.

The seized software included copies of Microsoft Office Excel and Norton security software.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the address, and is being questioned at Raheny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The operation was linked an ongoing Garda investigation involving the sale and distribution of counterfeit goods over the internet.
