WE DON’T HEAR much from Eamon Gilmore since he resigned as Labour leader and tánaiste in the summer but we do like a good blast from the past.

Here’s an election leaflet from the 1992 general election when Gilmore was running as Democratic Left candidate.

The wonderful Irish Election Literature is a really treasure trove for political junkies and those who enjoy good fashion:

Yep, he’s wearing a poloneck. No biggie. After all, this is the man who brought looking totally laid back in campaign posters to a new level.

Seeing as he’s now solely focused on being a Labour backbencher these days we reckon Eamon should start a campaign to revive the polo neck.
