DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL has said that it is “pleased to announce” that toll charges on the East Link Bridge will be reduced from next week.

In a statement, it said that this price drop comes after a ruling from the Revenue Commissioners that VAT should not be charged on tolls on the bridge, which is also called the Tom Clarke Bridge.

The price drops will take effect from Friday 18 August.

Here’s a breakdown of how much it’ll cost:

  • Cars – old price = €1.75 – new price = €1.40
  • Van/bus – old price = €2.60 – new price = €2.10
  • Two axle – old price = €3.50 – new price = €2.85
  • Three axle – old price = €4.30 – new price = €3.50
  • Four axle – old price = €5.20 – new price = €4.25
