The Eiffel Tower has been reopened to the public after it was evacuated following bomb threat earlier today, management at the Paris tourist spot said.

Visitors to the Paris landmark were asked to leave just after midday after the unspecified alert, and the monument was reopened at 2.30pm after police determined it was safe.

Although security threats at Paris landmarks are common, today’s incident comes at a particularly sensitive time after the United States issued a global terror alert.
