Question Time

Q.

Why should someone vote for you?

As a former Minister for Housing who ramped up social housing from 800 units per year to 10,000 units per year, I know how to resolve the housing problem. Direct building of council and affordable housing through a major state building campaign on public land.

Q.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

Building social and affordable houses over the next five years under Labour\'s policy which is to provide 80,000 houses nationwide on public land.

Q.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

Change how the Department of Housing operates, which seems at present to be blocking the building of council houses resulting in long delays of four years from choosing a site for a housing scheme to construction and occupation.
