Biography

Timmons was first elected to South Dublin County Council in 2014. He was re-elected in the May 2019 local elections and he unsuccessfully ran in the November 2019 by-election. He is a peace commissioner for Dublin county. He has workied in social care for 30 years.

Why should someone vote for you?

My life experiences, my work as a social care worker and my dedication as an elected councillor give me the skills and knowledge to be a very effective, hardworking TD for all my community in Dublin Mid-West.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

My priority is mental health, and within that is housing, homelessness, community facilities, infrastructure and traffic/transport as everything affects out mental health.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

I would like to propose a referendum on the right to a home free from abuse and neglect for every child in our State. I also would like to propose a referendum on state ownership of our water.
