Biography

Fine Gael was officially founded in 1933 after its predecessor Cumann na nGaedheal subsumed two other smaller parties. It is currently the largest party in the State in terms of Dáil representation and has over 30,000 members. It is a broadly centre-right, socially conservative, economically liberal party.
