Biography

The Social Democrats was launched in July 2015 by three independent TDs, Stephen Donnelly, Catherine Murphy and Róisín Shortall. Donnelly has since left the party and it is now led by Murphy and Shortall. It is a centre-left, socially liberal party that supports a Nordic style social democracy.
