Outgoing Fianna Fáil TD Billy Kelleher is a general election candidate in Cork North-Central. Having topped the polls in the constituency in 2007, the 43-year-old was rewarded with a junior ministry by then-Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, serving as Minister of State with responsibility for Labour Affairs. Kelleher remained in favour following Brian Cowen's cabinet reshuffle in 2009 and has handled the portfolio for trade and commerce since then.



 

Did you know?

In January 2011, Kelleher refused to support Brian Cowen in the Taoiseach's motion of confidence in his own leadership.
