Constituency: Cork North Central

Mick Barry is the Socialist Party candidate for Cork North Central. Barry was first elected as Councillor in 2004. He was the key organiser of the protest in Cork city in 2008 to defend medical cards for the over 70s.



Policies
  • Stop the closure of St Mary’s Orthopaedic Hospital in Gurranabraher
  • The introduction of an emergency programme of useful public works to create employment
  • Nationalise the banks under the democratic control of workers rather than bailing them out
