Seantor Brian Ó Domhnaill will stand again as a Fianna Fáil candidate in Donegal South-West. The 33-year-old unsuccesfully contested the November 2010 by-election in the constituency, securing over 21 per cent of first-preference votes. Ó Domhnaill was appointed to the Seanad by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern in 2007 after he failed to win election to the body's Industrial and Commerical Panel.
