Fine Gael's Dinny McGinley is seeking re-election for a nineth successive term as a deputy for Donegal South-West. The 65-year-old was first elected to Dáil Eireann in February 1982 and has been returned by the three-seat constituency at every subsequent election. McGinley has held a wide range of front bench positions during his time in Leinster House. He is currently Fine Gael's Deputy Spokesperson on Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs.



 

Did you know?

In 2006, McGinley announced his intention to retire from politics. He subsequently changed his mind after he became concerned at the strength of the Fine Gael ticket in the constituency.
