Constituency: Dublin West

Joe Higgins was first elected in 1991 to Dublin City Council. He was elected to the Dail in 1997, but failed in his bid for re-election in 2007. In 2009 he was elected an MEP for Dublin with 12.42% share of the votes.

Did you know?

Higgins was imprisoned for a month in 2003 over his opposition to Bin Tax.
