      Fine Gael TD Leo Varadkar will seek re-election in Dublin West. The 32-year-old pulled in over 20 per cent of first-preferences votes in 2007, enough to comfortably win him a seat in the three-seat constituency. Varadkar has been prominent on the Fine Gael front benches over the past five years as he was first appointed as spokesperson on Enterprise, Trade and Employment before being reassigned to the Communications and Energy portfolio in June 2010.



       

      Did you know?

      Varadkar studied medicine in Trinity College, and was elected to full membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2010.
