Clifford Reid

Constituency: Kildare South

Clifford Reid is running as an independent candidate in Kildare South. Reid received 2 per cent of first-preference votes in the 2004 European election following a controversial campaign in which his poster urged voters to "Stop The Paedophiles". A former prison officer, Reid has also recently worked as a parliamentary assistant to Fianna Fáil senator John Ellis. This is his first general election campaign.



Policies
  • No closure of beds, wards or hospitals
  • Separation of bank and sovereign debt
  • Local councils to take over ghost estates and employ out of work tradesmen to complete them

 

Did you know?

In September 2006, Reid appeared on the RTE show Beyond Endurance which saw him take part in an Antarctic which sought to retrace Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean's footsteps.
