      24-year-old local councillor Simon Harris has been chosen by Fine Gael as part of their three-person team in Wicklow. Despite his young age, Harris has already successfully negotiated his first electoral challenge, winning election to Wicklow Council in 2009 with more than a 30 per cent share of first-preference votes. He is currently working as a political adviser to Fine Gael Senator Frances Fitzgerald.

      Harris is the founder of the Triple A Alliance, a charity which provides support and advice to families affected by autism.
