EVER ENCOUNTERED ANYTHING like this on your morning Dublin Bus commute?

Commuters in St Pancras Station in London yesterday were treated to a performance from musical legend Elton John.

The veteran performer took his seat behind the upright piano in the station and knocked out snippets from his range of hits.

These included Bennie and the Jets, Candle in the Wind, Tiny Dancer and Levon.

However, sans a microphone, he left any singing to the amazed onlookers.

This was being done to coincide with the release of his new album, Wonderful Crazy Night.

The performance – which lasted for less than three minutes – came just as the performer sets off on a European tour, starting in Paris this evening.

The Yamaha piano he played is a donation by John to the station station, and will be available for everyone to play on. A note left on top of it says:

Enjoy this piano. It’s a gift. Love, Elton John.
