Plane forced to make emergency landing on Australian highway

A PLANE IN Queensland, Australia, was forced to make an emergency landing on a central highway after experiencing technical difficulties in the air today.

The light plane was just 30km shy of its 1,000km journey when it was forced to make its landing on Capricorn Highway, The Guardian reports.

It is believed between two and four people were on board and no one was injured despite the pilots having to land on a very thin stretch of road.

An employee of a local service station told the Brisbane Times that she had to drive under the wing of the plane to get past to go to work.

“One gentlemen I spoke to said he heard it spluttering as it passed over his house,” she said.

“There didn’t seem to be any damage to the plane, it just came down and landed on the road.”
