Explosive device found during search in Finglas

Gardaí are investigating the incident.

A VIABLE IMPROVISED explosive device (IED) was found during a planned search of a private residence in the Deanstown area of Finglas, Dublin this morning.

The army bomb disposal team arrived at the scene at 10am.

The device was assessed to be viable and has been removed to a safe military location for deconstruction.

Evidence will be handed over to the gardaí to assist them with their investigation.

The scene was declared safe at 10.30am.
