The 90-year-old venue is seen by the Irish Greyhound Board (IGB) as having major earning potential.
The work is expected to be completed in Q2 of 2018.

The new stadium will include a retractable roof.
The flats were first built in 1961.
The work began last September.
If approved, the work should be finished in 2017.
Almost 3,800 new houses and apartments are to be built.
A Dublin councillor has called for tougher restrictions to be placed on the vehicles.
