A FIFTH FERRARI 458 ITALIA has been destroyed in a freak fire accident since the model was released three months ago.

The latest blaze took place on the bottom of a hill on the outskirts of Ningbo, on China’s east coast.

This video of the burning car was uploaded to YouTube on Monday:

This is the fourth of these models to go up in smoke for no apparent reason: another was destroyed in a warehouse fire in London’s Heathrow Airport.

It also brings to the total number of 458s wrecked in the last three months to eleven, as six have been crashed so far. The number of incidents involving the car are unusually high, but driving experts say that the crashes could simply be due to inexperienced drivers.

Ferrari says that they are treating all the fires as separate incidents and that they cannot comment further until their investigations are complete.

The 458 Italia costs €207,000 and is capable of 0 -100 km/h in just over three seconds as well as having a top speed of 325 km/h.
