CAN THE FOO Fighters do no wrong? It seems not.
The Foo Fighters ”rickrolled” the Westboro Baptist Church, when the protest group gathered to protest at the entrance to one of their concerts on Friday.
The notorious hate group, which also hates Ireland, is known for picketing funerals and public events, had been picketing outside the Sprint Center in Kansas City, where the Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform.
How do you get back at the Westboro Baptist Church? Protest outside the church blaring Rick Astley’s “Never gonna give you up”, of course.
Band members piled into a pickup truck and drove past members of the Westboro Baptist Church playing the 1987 single while and holding signs saying “You got rick roll’d” and “Keep it Clean”. (Rick-rolling is when someone plays the song when you’re not expecting it)
As the protestors held signs saying things like, “No Special Laws 4 Fags,” the band danced to Never Gonna Give You Up with dozens of fans.
Fair play lads, fair play.
