FREE WIRELESS INTERNET is to be installed in over 80 tube stations in London just in time for the Olympics.

Whatever happened to the Dublin plans to do the same? A spokesperson for Irish Rail confirmed that works to have onboard Wi-Fi are “taking place at the moment and are ongoing”.

Wi-Fi will be installed on all DART services “by the end of the summer” and ”on all InterCity connectors” by the end of the year, a spokesperson for Irish Rail confirmed to

The service is already available on the Dublin to Cork route.

The project to install WiFi on the DART and commuter rail fleet in the Greater Dublin Area started last year.

Bus Éireann is planning to continue its rollout of WiFi but it is subject to funding being made available for the project.
