It’s understood that the man’s body was spotted offshore by a search party who had been looking for missing Clare man Michael Bugler.

Michael’s sister Laura wrote on Facebook this evening that she and her family were relieved to have Michael home.

“On behalf of myself, my family and Michael’s friends I’d like to thank you all for your help and support over the past 3 weeks,” she said.

“Thankfully we are so relieved to finally have Michael home today.”

A Garda spokesman confirmed that the body has been removed to Galway University Hospital where a post mortem is expected to take place.
