Garda due in court on organised crime charges

A second man is also due in court in Dublin.

A GARDA IS one of two men due in court on alleged offences relating to serious organised criminal activity.

The two men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were arrested this morning by gardaí attached to the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and charged.

They are to appear in the Criminal Courts of Justice today.

The arrested garda is understood to be a garda in the Dublin region who has been suspended from duty during the course of the investigation.

A garda spokesperson said: “As these matters are now before the courts An Garda Síochána cannot make any further comment.”
