A STATEMENT ISSUED last night by Garth Brooks’ press reps said that he wants all five Irish concerts to go ahead or “none at all”.

The full statement from Brooks reads:

I can’t thank the people of Ireland enough for how welcome they have made me feel.

I have faith that Dublin City Council will make the best decision for the people of Ireland. For us, it is five shows or none at all.

To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do, would be like asking to choose one child over another. However this plays out, Ireland has my heart and always will.

The concerts on 25, 26 and 27 July were granted permission today by Dublin City Council, but the concert dates of Monday, 28 July, and Tuesday, 29 July were refused on the grounds that five concerts would lead to an “unacceptable level of disruption to their lives/livelihoods” of those that live in the Croke Park area.
