ARE YOU DREADING the trip back to Dublin Airport? Another long goodbye with the family?

There is one Irish company hoping to spare you the trouble.

Global food company Glanbia has just announced a new recruitment drive which will see 50 new positions opened for people just home for the holidays.

The firm said it was targeting the “global Irish diaspora who may be returning to Ireland for Christmas”.

Of the 90 positions available in Ireland, 50 are brand new jobs just created for those returning. The firm’s management is hoping the government’s #hometowork hashtag will grab the attention of those they want to recruit in the coming days.

Currently, there are 35 jobs in Ireland listed on Glanbia’s career website.

HR and corporate affairs director Michael Patten said they are “targeting the rich seam of talent in the global Irish diaspora who may be returning home for Christmas and particularly people with expertise in areas including IT, science & innovation, finance, operations, engineering and management”.

Our message to this group of people is – if you have skills in these areas, if you can identify with our purpose and vision and if you have the passion and know-how to drive growth in a world leading global nutrition company, we would like to hear from you.

With the campaign, it also hopes to fill another 110 positions across the world. Positions are available in their offices in Illinois, Idaho, California, New Mexico and Missouri in the US, as well as in the UK, Denmark, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

Glanbia currently employs 6,000 people in 34 countries. It has an annual turnover of €3.5 billion.
