A NEW POLL has brought some good news for government parties – they’re a bit more popular now.

The Red C poll due to be published in full in tomorrow’s Sunday Business Post saw Fine Gael rise by three points to 28%, according to RTÉ. Labour is up one point to 8%.

As for Fianna Fáil, party support stayed at 18%. Both Sinn Féin and Independents/Others are now on 23% – that’s up one point for Sinn Féin but, interestingly, down five for Independents.

The poll also asked the 1,000 respondents about their feelings on the economy.

Most people believe it’s generally on track, though 39% disagree.
