A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy has been confirmed as a victim of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Isaac Paulous and his family lived on the 18th floor of the London tower block, which caught fire on 14 June, claiming the lives of at least 79.

He was found dead on the 13th floor of the building.

Isaac was formally identified today, after an inquest into his death opened yesterday.

A statement from his family paid tribute to their “kind, energetic, generous little boy”.

“Isaac our beloved son was taken from us when he was only five years old. We will all miss our kind, energetic, generous little boy.

He was such a good boy who was loved by his friends and family. We will miss him forever, but we know God is looking after him now and that he is safe in heaven.

“Isaac’s family is grieving and ask that their privacy be respected at this very difficult time.”

The confirmation comes as a spokesperson for UK Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed that 95 high-rise buildings in 32 local authority areas had failed fire safety tests.

As emergency services continue to search through the ashes of the gutted building, suspicion has fallen on the recently installed cladding with allegations it may have contributed to the ferocity of the fire.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said that Londoners cannot be sure that hospitals are safe as tests on their exteriors are still ongoing.
