Doing something good for the environment this month? Let us know for a chance to win €150

You could be a little richer, thanks to Gum Litter Taskforce.

ARE YOU RARELY seen without a reusable cup or water bottle? Do you always have a tote bag to hand, just in case you might need it? Or are you known for picking up litter when you’re out and about?

Small steps like these can have a big impact on the environment, just like always binning your gum does. However, while not using a reusable cup, water bottle or tote bag has no penalty, as such, not disposing of your gum correctly can result in a €150 fine.

To celebrate all steps, big and small, that people take around the country to help the environment, we want you to tell us how you do your bit to help.

Whether it’s doing everything you can to produce zero waste, like Dublin-based Celia Somlai, or being an active member of your local TidyTowns committee, like these ladies in Adare, Co Limerick, we want to hear what you’re doing to help the environment and to get litter where it really belongs – in the bin.

So, tell us: what are you doing this month to help the environment? You could even win €150 by letting us know.

Simply email your name, location and a thing that you do to help the environment to competitions@thejournal.ie with ‘How I help – Gum Litter Taskforce’ in the subject line.

Prize is a €150 One4All voucher. Winners will be contacted via email. Full Journal Media T&Cs here

No matter how busy you are keeping your community clean, you should always make time to bin your gum when you’re done. Did you know that by incorrectly disposing of gum, you’re not only littering, but breaking the law? So do the decent thing – bin your gum, and avoid a €150 fine.
