I’m still the same kid; I’m still the same kid everybody knew without hands. The only thing that’s different is, instead of having no hands, I have two hands, and everything else is the same.

DOCTORS WERE AMAZED by Zion Harvey’s determination and maturity as he became the first person to undergo a lengthy and experimental medical treatment: a double hand transplant.

The process was grueling, with daily therapy treatments, extensive rehabilitation, and setbacks when his body began to reject the new hands, but in this personal look at his journey, it’s clear that Zion doesn’t let it get to him.

Watch Zion’s story above, and read the latest update on the procedure here.
