GETTING INTO THE property market can be a daunting experience. Here we make it easy and bring you four of the best properties on the market around the country this week.

Under €250,000

South city centre, Dublin – €140,000

This house is good value for somewhere so central in the capital. Just a short walk from the city’s George’s Street,  Phoenix Park, St James’s Hospital and the Guinness Storehouse – its convenience should ensure it is easy to rent.

The property is not exactly big on size, but it has made the most of what it has, with an attic room installed above the main section of the house. It has been upgraded in recent times to include gas-fired central heating and double glazed windows.

Under €750,000

Barna, Co Galway – €550,000

This property on the west coast, known as ‘Wild Winds’, describes itself as “tucked away from the maddening crowd”. It is surrounded by a number of tall trees which gives it the quality of seclusion. The town of Barna contains a number of well-reputed restaurants and has its own beach.

While it has gone up by €55,000 since originally being listed, it does not seem disproportionately priced. The inside of the house has more than 3,000 sq. ft. of floor space – with this being put down to “well-proportioned bedrooms and ample interconnecting living spaces”.
