A 16-YEAR-old boy was rescued by 15 members of the Irish Coast Guard yesterday evening when he got stuck on a cliff-edge in north Dublin.

The boy tried to climb up the cliff from the beach and had become stranded, unable to move up or down at Whitewater Brook in Howth.

The Irish Coast Guard Cliff Rescue Unit received the 999 call at around 9.40pm and 15 members were dispatched to the scene.

At around 9.50pm, a 50m mid-cliff rescue began and the boy was recovered and brought to the cliff-top.

He had no injuries and no further assistance was required.
