Hugh Jackman tells people to wear sunscreen after another skin cancer surgery
ACTOR HUGH JACKMAN has urged people to wear sunscreen and get regular check-ups after going public with having a fifth skin cancer growth removed.
Jackman posted a photo of himself post-surgery to his Instagram account with the following message:
An example of what happens when you don’t wear sunscreen. Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups.
The actor was first treated for basal cell carcinoma, a common type of skin cancer, in 2013 after his wife Deborra-Lee Furness encouraged him to get a mark on his nose checked out.
He initially thought the mark was caused when filming scenes as Wolverine in X-Men.

Jackman previously told the Guardian he has skin checks every three months.
“I’m realistic about the future and it’s more than likely that I’ll have at least one more but probably many more, which is not uncommon for an Aussie particularly from English stock growing up in Australia where I don’t remember ever being told to put sunscreen on.”
