IRELAND WILL RETURN to one of the venues they played at during Euro 2012 for a friendly next month.
The FAI has this afternoon announced that the Boys in Green will face Poland in Poznan on 19 November — 16 months after losing out to Croatia and Italy in the same stadium.
It will be the second meeting between the teams in less than a year after goals from Ciaran Clark and Wes Hoolahan secured a 2-0 win for Ireland at the Aviva Stadium back in February.
Despite losing all three games at last year’s European Championships, Ireland fans will remember the Polish city fondly having received a warm reception from the people of Poznan.
The FAI also announced that Ray Houghton and Ruud Dokter, the men tasked with finding Ireland a new manager, will give an update to the FAI Board of Management before the next squad announcement.
