Irish citizen being treated for injuries after Paris attacks

AN IRISH CITIZEN is being treated for injuries after a series of attacks that killed at least 120 people in Paris last night.

The Irish Embassy in Paris is providing consular assistance to the injured person, who has not been named.

It is not known where the person sustained injuries. Gunmen targeted six locations across the city, including the Bataclan concert hall, the Stade de France football stadium and a pizzeria.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said there is no indication of any other Irish casualties at this time.

It urged Irish citizens in Paris to exercise extreme caution and to follow the instructions of local officials.

The Department has set up a phone line at 01-408-2000 for anyone worried about relatives or friends in Paris.
