IRISH MAN GARY HUTCH was shot dead at a holiday resort on Spain’s Costa Del Sol on Thursday.

El Pais reports that an Irish man was shot several times at around 11.40am yesterday morning at a gated estate in Angel Miraflores Mijas, close to Malaga.

Hutch, from Dublin’s north inner city, was shot three times. It is understood that a gunman wearing a balaclava chased him around a swimming pool.

According to reports back home, the 34-year-old victim was a convicted armed robber who had moved to Spain after he was released from prison in 2007.

He is the nephew of Gerry ‘the Monk’ Hutch.

Reports suggest the gunman was masked and wore gloves, and that he escaped in a waiting car following the killing.

The shooting is the second in Mijas in a week according to website Euroweekly News.

A 30-year-old Colombian man was shot dead in his wife’s car in the town last week, with authorities suggesting the crime could be drug-related.

The deputy of the Malagan government Miguel Briones told El Pais that there is a line of investigation to determine whether or not the two deaths are related.
