
IRISH WATER HAS posted an ad for a data protection manager, weeks after asking people for their PPS numbers.
The ad, posted yesterday is for an “information security and data protection manager”.
The job description says that the manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a data protection policy, as well as processes and procedures that help the company comply with legislation.
“The role will be responsible for successful establishment of the information security function and for leading the development of the function ensuring current and future information security and data protection requirements within Irish Water are met.”
The salary is listed as “competitive” for the Dublin-based job and some of the requirements are:
- Provide the training to all employees, contractors or other third parties to ensure
proper Information Security and Data Protection; - Monitor Information Security and Data Protection throughout Irish Water and
external organisations; - Assessment and on-going monitoring of vulnerability of Irish Water systems and
infrastructure to information security threats
The advantages, according to the ad are: CISSP (Certified Information System Security professional) certification, as well as experience in a utility, experience in ISO 27001 (best practice in data protection) and “excellent analytical and problem solving skills”.
