THE PARENTS OF James Foley, the American journalist beheaded by the Islamic State group, will appear on the Late Late Show this evening.

John and Diane Foley will sit down with Ryan Tubridy to discuss the kidnap and murder of their eldest son.

James made international headlines when the Islamic State group, who had kidnapped him two years previously, released a video of his execution.

The act shocked the world and helped spark a mobilisation of action against the group.

The Foleys will talk about their eldest son Jim, how they are coping with the shock of his killing and with the attention of the world.

Diane recently told CNN that the family was told not to go to the media and “trust that it would be taken care of.”

“As an American I was embarrassed and appalled,” Foley said.
