THE BODY OF Jastine Valdez will be flown home to the Philippines today.

The body of the 24-year-old, who was murdered in south Dublin 10 days ago will be accompanied by her parents Teresita and Danilo and the Honorary Consul to the Philippines Mark Christopher Congdon.

The body of Jastine was discovered just off the Puck’s Castle Lane area of Rathmichael in south Dublin last Monday afternoon. A letter from her suspected killer Mark Hennessy led gardaí to the site after he had been shot dead by an armed officer.

She had been reported missing on the previous Saturday night after she was believed to have been forced into a car on the R760 near Enniskerry in Co Wicklow.

Gardaí continue to investigate the death of Jastine. The focus of the investigation is now into the whereabouts of her blue handbag, and her Apple Mini iPad.

Gardaí say that suspect Hennessy may have visited several locations across south Dublin over the weekend and appealed to members of the public who may have seen him to pass on that information.

The families of both Mark Hennessy and Jastine Valdez have met to exchange sympathies.

“In the midst of our grief both the Valdez and Hennessy families met on Friday morning where we exchanged sympathies with each other on the tragic circumstances that resulted in the loss of our respective love ones,” the families said in a statement released by gardaí on Sunday.

Hennessy was cremated in a private funeral service yesterday in Harold’s Cross in Dublin.
