UNITED LEFT TD Joan Collins has received a summons to appear before court following her arrest at a water meter protest earlier this year.

The Dublin South–Central deputy was among almost a dozen people arrested at the installation of meters on Parnell Road in April.

She was detained briefly and returned to the protest once she was released.

Collins received a summons today over public order charges, and is due to appear before court on 2 November.

This is the same date as Anti-Austerity Alliance TD Paul Murphy is due before court over charges relating to the alleged false imprisonment of Tánasite Joan Burton at a protest in Jobstown.

“And so it continues,” Collins said in a Facebook post.

“I reiterate that it is very important for people to attend tomorrow’s protest at 1pm at the Central Bank,” she added.
