Poll: Do you do Kris Kindle in your family?

Do you think adult families should concentrate on buying each adult sibling one decent Christmas present rather than everyone buying for everyone?

CHRISTMAS IS A magical time.

It can also be an expensive one, with the seasonal spirit slowly dying under an avalanche of “stuff”.

Some understandably decide to do Kris Kindle (or ‘Kris Kringle’).

Jaded with buying books and DVDs at the last minute for people who don’t need them, they pick names out of a hat (or use an online generator) to divvy out who gets what for whom.

Although the average family in Ireland now has just 1.4 children, many adults still have multiple siblings, with families of seven or eight adult children still common.

With that in mind, do you think adult families should concentrate on buying each adult sibling one decent Christmas present (worth, say, €50) rather than everyone buying for everyone?

Poll Results:

Yes, of course. (5321)
No. Buying presents is what Christmas is about. (3161)
I'm against Christmas presents full stop. (802)
