A PARTNER OF Dr Conrad Murray’s chief defence attorney has failed to show up for a contempt hearing in Los Angeles, prompting the judge to issue but hold a warrant for his arrest.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor said today that attorney Matt Alford left a phone message yesterdaysaying he was in trial in Houston and could not attend. Pastor says he wants details in writing. He ordered Alford to appear 29 November, the day Murray will be sentenced for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. Murray remains in jail.

Pastor threatened to hold Alford in contempt in September after he appeared on NBC’s Today show criticising a prosecution witness only hours after the judge had warned defence attorneys not to comment on the case outside court.
