Man in his 40s killed after van hits tree

He was the sole occupant of the van.

A MAN IN his 40s has died after the van he was driving hit a tree.

Gardaí in Mohill, Leitrim are appealing for information on the crash, which occurred on a minor road off the Cloone/Drumlish road at Fearglass South last night around 11.50pm.

The man was fatally injured when the van hit the tree.

He was brought to the Midland Regional Hospital at Mullingar and later pronounced dead. He was the sole occupant of the van.

This stretch of road has been closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision investigators.
