GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an “alleged incident of false imprisonment” of a woman in a vehicle in Listowel, Co Kerry this morning.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and is being detained at a garda station.

The alleged incident occurred on Clieveragh Road on the outskirts of Listowel town at roughly 3.20 am this morning.

A garda spokesperson appealed for witnesses to come forward, including any road users who may have camera footage “who were in the area between Listowel town centre and the R552 Clieveragh Road between 2:00am and 4:00am”.

The Gardaí are particularly interested in the movements of a white Audi A4 saloon vehicle in that same time period.
